From the moment we started discussions with Pauline and Rodney picked us up at the airport, we knew we were in good hands. He was warm, funny, and just instantly put us at ease. You know how some guides feel “official” and distant? Rodney was the complete opposite: kind, informative, and genuinely fun to be around. We were smiling and laughing the whole day. We did the Cape of Good Hope tour, and honestly, it couldn’t have gone better. It felt like everywhere we went, Rodney knew everyone: other guides, site employees, vendors, you name it. Watching him chat and joke with people all along the route made the experience feel so much more local and alive. It’s one thing to see a place; it’s another to feel like you’re part of it for a day. Every stop was a highlight: watching the penguins at Boulders Beach, standing at the Cape of Good Hope, taking in the views from the lighthouse, and grabbing those incredible photos at Chapman’s Peak. Each moment felt well-timed, easy, and unhurried. Rodney made sure we had the time and space to enjoy it all, and somehow managed to keep the energy up the entire day. He’s one of those rare guides who blends deep knowledge with real charm, and that makes all the difference. After the tour, my wife and I both said the same thing: we should’ve booked Rodney for more days. If you’re planning any tours or activities around Cape Town, talk to Archive Tours and ask for Rodney. He doesn’t just show you the sights, he makes you feel them. Highly, highly recommended.

Had a fantastic tour of the winery’s with Jossie who looked after us and was great company and a fantastic guide, also did a second tour with Pamela of Table Mountain and down to Cape Of Good Hope another great experience

We spent a day on this tour with Candace and Mabee and they were amazing. We saw the Cape of Good Hope, hiked to the lighthouse, saw the penguins and we learned so much about Cape Town’s history and landscape. Candace and Mabee were so informative, honest, generous, flexible and kind. We were a group of 11 and our kids wanted to go swimming in the ocean (in the middle of a South African winter) and they found us the best beach! I would recommend Cape Archives Tours and Candace and Mabee to anyone.

Booked through Viator and this tour didn’t disappointed! I visited penguins and cape of good hope with many stops in between. The van was spacious clean and new. Rodney was our guide and water was provided. Special thanks to Pauline to organize my tickets as the official website was down! Highly recommended!

While planning our time in Cape Town, a trusted family friend told us, “If you go, you must reach out to Rodney at Cape Archive Tours”—and we’re so glad we listened. Rodney brought Cape Town to life in ways we never could have imagined. With sharp humor, unmatched local knowledge, and the kind of charisma that instantly puts you at ease, Rodney didn’t just show us Cape Town—he let us experience it. We visited all the iconic places, but always in ways that felt personal and authentic. Instead of just snapping a photo from the boardwalk, we walked the beach beside the penguins. Instead of sticking to guidebook stops, we dined at tucked-away restaurants and explored hidden cultural gems. Every part of the itinerary was customized and thoughtful, and every moment was memorable. Rodney is a storyteller, a connector, and a total joy to be around. Cape Archive Tours gave us the Cape Town we’ll remember forever.
